Desire Los Cabos is ceasing operations as of June 13th 2013. It is believed that the new owners intend to re-open it as a family friendly resort.

So that means that the other 2 Desires at Riveria Maya, and Desire Pearl will be more heavily booked. If you were planning to go to either of those two locations, then you will want to have a look at availability as soon as you can.

Plus I would expect a slight increase in price in the near future, as they are your only two choices now.

This is a shame as we really enjoyed heading to Cabo. But on the flip side, we are lucky that we have already booked a trip to RM for the start of August. So if you are there at that time, please come and say hello!

But you need to click the banner below right now, to see what room availabilities remain for the rest of the year, and still get some great discounts! Please remember that these rooms will start to fill up quickly.

With almost 4,000 people on one of the world’s largest ships, this will be a week of high energy partying at sea that you will never forget.

Review of the World’s Largest Lifestyle Cruise, Nov 2012.

We have just returned from what we can only describe as being the most amazing vacation we have EVER experienced in our lives! How could it not be when you have over 3600 sexy guests on a boat for the world’s largest ever lifestyle cruise? Well there were actually 3621 guests to be exact. So where do I begin this report?

First of all I will say that you should do yourself a favour – click below to book your spot on the next cruise right now as cabins are selling incredibly fast and prices rise as less cabins become available!

Click HERE to see current cabin availabilities!

You will not regret booking a vacation like this! Then after you have at least had a look at the possibilities for cabins and dates for 2013 and beyond, come back here and read the rest of this review.

For us, the actual lifestyle vacation / event started 2 nights before the cruise. We stayed at the Marriott Airport Hotel with about 800 other fellow cruisers. We would highly recommend this for future cruisers as this was a brilliant way to get to know people much better before the cruise and to put faces to those we had been emailing for many months via forums & websites. And to add 2 extra available nights for play with new friends because 7 nights is not enough with 3600 people – you do the math! As one new friend put it – you only need to be compatible with 0.5% of these people. That adds up to 9 couples, which is enough for 1 couple per night (provided you do the 2 night airport stay!)

There was a large gathering having drinks at one of the hotel bars on the night we arrived. We got to the hotel quite late but thought we would go down to quickly say hello to a few new friends. At 1:45am we were among the last to leave the bar, but by this stage we had already met some great people. The second night was a much bigger formal meet & greet event with the aforementioned 800 people in attendance. An extremely valuable opportunity to spend more time getting to know some more great new friends, so we highly recommend the pre-cruise hotel stay.

We spent the daytime down by the hotel pool, but due to the fact that it was not a complete hotel takeover, we had to remain clothed. It was very hard for us to keep our clothes on having just spent the previous 4 nights at Desire Los Cabos.

From here I will provide a breakdown of what the whole cruise had to offer.

We had an interior cabin on Deck 6 (above the pizza shop!) with a window overlooking the main Deck 5 Promenade, so we had a prime spot to view the happenings and parades that were occurring each night. Yep – there’s the Australian flag with our room number below!

The bed in our cabin was a king size and it provided more than enough room for 4 people (6 at a squeeze)! Now some of you may also be thinking – “What an awesome way to put on a show for those lucky people opposite our cabin and anyone else who is looking up at our window at the right time!” Well yes we too thought exactly that until we read the note conveniently placed on the couch below the window that stated that there was to be no visible nudity or sexual activity that could be seen by others. I think that was to mainly not offend the cruise staff. I must admit though, we did flash more than a few people that week!

There were several different playrooms rooms created for everyone to do exactly what we all came here to do – have sex with new & old friends! The biggest room was the “Pharaoh’s Lounge” on Deck 5 which was a large room set up with more beds than I could count. There was a small 4 seater couch in front of each of the beds – I guess it was like some sort of football interchange / substitute bench or rest area where you could watch the activity on the bed in front of you, while you waited to be ‘tagged in’ or waited for room to become available. There was a dress code for this room, which caught a few people out despite it being clearly explained. Basically you had to dress down into underwear or sexy wear and / or wear a robe. No street clothes at all so it made it a bit awkward if you were out having drinks during the night and then decided to go to the play room. You had to either undress around the corner and carry clothes in, or run to your room to dress down and then return.

This room (as well as all of the playrooms) were open for a tour for an hour before official opening on the first night. A group of us got into the act of trying out some of the beds at the back of the room during the tour, as we were ready for play now! Staff politely advised us that the room wasn’t open for action for another 30 minutes and to come back later as we were holding up the flow of people through the room! Not that they seemed to mind watching the show. Sorry folks – we just could not wait any longer!

Down on deck 2 were several play rooms – One of which was the “Dungeon”. This room looked like my tool shed at home with all the benches, leather, metal, chains etc… This room may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it was still interesting for a look and a play with some of the tools of trade. It showed that there was something on the ship for everyone! There were several workshops & educational presentations for both couples and ladies for those who wanted to know more about using such ‘tools’ (or to start learning about it!).

Across the hall from the Dungeon was the appropriately named “Dark Room” which was actually a very, very dark room! I think there were 12 beds pushed together in a 6 x 2 configuration so it made one big ‘pole vaulter’s crash mat’, and it was so dark that you couldn’t really see who or what you were playing with – which I guess can be a good thing at times! We only had a look in there during the open tour but never made back in there.

Next door to the Dark Room was the “Hall Pass” room. 6 beds with sheer curtain screens around them to give some privacy and intimacy, and gently lit to create the right atmosphere. Great concept for those couples who have ‘hall passes’ where they can separate and ‘head down the hall’ to play when they want, with whoever they want.

Back to Pharaoh’s Lounge again for a moment – during the cruise some friends told us that they often had to wait for a while for a free bed or for some room on a bed to become available to play on, so it was lucky for us that we used our cabins for our playtime. No waiting! Play when you want! One other advantage of using your cabin is privacy. But then again it depends on what your preference is. Some people like to put on a show; others like to watch the show. Let me explain…

Late on the first night there was a small group of us playing on the beds in the “Hall Pass” room on deck 2. These beds had sheer curtains for some privacy, but people kept hearing passionate sexual noises and wanted to open the curtains for a closer look. At one stage the lady I was playing with was screaming and moaning so loudly that we did not notice that there was suddenly a big crowd of people standing next to our bed watching us! My head was buried between her legs the whole time and I had not looked up too far at any stage, so I was surprised to see we had created quite a gathering when I did finally look up. But the best part was that they all gave us a loud round of applause for our efforts! We all had to laugh!

There was full nudity allowed outside on the pool deck (11) and the upper deck (12). You were also allowed to walk to your cabin via the hallway & staircase fully nude, but not allowed to use the elevator. Some of the bars were topless, and if anyone was singing Karaoke then it was acceptable to generate more interest by lifting or lowering a top!

The waiters on the pool deck would have thoroughly enjoyed their jobs this week with so much hot flesh on display! They got the best full ship take over one could possibly imagine! We once worked on a cruise ship, which had a full ship takeover by Kid Rock & 3500 fans. Not quite the same calibre of guest as this takeover – but fun all the same.

There was so much happening all the time that it was impossible to do everything / everyone, and see everything. But we tried!

They always have a men’s belly flop contest on cruise ships, but this one was done naked. Let’s just say my eyes are still watering at all of the resulting battered savs from this event! One I am glad I did not enter! The winner won the final dive with a huge back whacker! Ouch!

“The Squirtanators” was a fabulous stage show that showed an amazing live demonstration of a female ejaculation. I know some people are a bit sceptical about this phenomenon, but there was living visual proof for all to see up on stage. As a side note, my girlfriend squirts big time! One night we played with some friends in their cabin, and let’s just say our new friends slept in a waterbed later that night! Sorry about that folks, but at least you took it as a compliment! If you want to know more about squirting and exactly how to do it, click here to find out!

As we left the ship on Sunday morning we were thinking that later in the night, the next group of cruise guests will be sitting in the Pharaoh’s Lounge enjoying the shows of live music and dancing, completely oblivious to the kind of show that was going on only 24 hours ago! I almost felt sorry for them!

Naked speed dating was another wonderful way to meet new people. In this style of speed dating, guys when you meet a new lady she doesn’t shake your hand for an introduction! But she will still shake something! You have 90 seconds to have a chat to your new friend before moving along the line for another ‘introduction’. So we had a good laugh there and got to know many new people.

The seas were occasionally a bit rough – perhaps a combination of the existing waves and the ship being rocked by the activities taking place on the lower decks!

Each day our awesome room steward created some fancy towel animals and placed them on our bed. We taught him how to make some towel creations more applicable to this type of cruise – this was the result…

Do a basic search on You Tube if you want to know how to make this “addition” to your next towel animal creation.

In the casino at the dice table we finally got the dealers to loosen up a little bit. As a former dice dealer / supervisor for 10 years I know when it’s appropriate to let rip with some risqué stick calls & this was definitely the time and place. So I was calling the game with the “12 Crap Johnny Holmes”, “who wants a hard 8?”, plus the ever popular “Juicy Lucy swallows the cum” and the newly created call for this cruise “9, 9, this wife is not mine”. I guess only the regular dice players will understand these calls. And if you don’t understand then you need to come & play Craps Down Under to learn how a dice game should be called!

The girls even got in on the action, placing bets for the male dealers, saying, ‘put a dollar on the hard 10 for Patrick, he looks like he’s got one!’ We even encouraged the stick man to short stick the girls (putting the dice a fair distance out in front of a female shooter so they have to reach as far as possible to pick them up), which would result in the rest of the players moving to the other end of the table for a look and a laugh! But the sad part about all of this is that I also got f*cked really hard at the Craps table! My wallet is now considerably lighter. That was one pounding that I did not want to receive!

There was a theme for each night of the cruise, which had us dressing up in different attire. Some of the examples of the themes were pirate night, white night, pyjama night, rock start night to name but a few. We did not dress up for every night so don’t feel that you absolutely must dress according to theme all the time. It does make it lots of fun if you do but as we had been travelling for weeks prior to this trip, we kind of ran out of room in our cases to pack for every theme night.

Every day there was a meet & greet of some description available to meet up with some like-minded people. Some of the meet & greets were for couples with hall passes, soft swap couples, bi couples, kinky / fetish couples, Latin couples, French speaking couples, and couples under 40. There were also meet & greets arranged for those who were on travel forums and lifestyle websites, so there were plenty of opportunities on the ship to meet more specific groups of people for you to get to know.

Some valuable tips for your cruise: Make sure you get some business cards printed up that have some of your essential details written on the front. The ship is massive and there are 1800 couples on board, and some of those you may want to see again. So on our card we printed our cabin number and our screen names from the various lifestyle sites and forums. Some people also put a photograph or an email address on the cards. So the card is completely up to you as to what to write. When we had them made up I must admit that I did think that the idea was bit silly. But it proved to be such a valuable tool to stay in touch with those we wanted to keep contact with, plus the fact that most of the other couples on the ship also did it, so I highly recommend it.

If you want to use a playroom, try to get there early or just be prepared to use your own bed instead. The queue (or should I say ‘line’) to get in and get a fresh bed can be long at times so plan your night carefully if you can!

I am a personal trainer and have been for many years. When you are on vacation there is no need to punish yourself in the gym on the ship! The time to get bigger, get stronger, lose weight etc… is 3-6 months before the cruise – not on it! Save all of that energy for where and when it really counts, or just use the stairs on the ship instead of the elevator to get your daily cardio!

The ships have 2 specialty restaurants. Bookings for these specialty restaurants fill up extremely quickly, so call up and book early on day 1 for a later day on the cruise, and make a booking for 4. Then when you meet some new friends you can take them out to a special dinner! Or you can just use the main dining rooms for fine dining with new friends, but be aware that you may be waiting for a long time for dinner as there is no set seating time on this cruise, which normally applies on other cruises. We had dinner in the main dining room with an awesome couple, and we were able to walk straight in to a table as we went at 6pm when it opened. I heard that some people were waiting for up to 1.5 hours for dinner in these dining rooms. So getting there early is the biggest tip, or just head for the quick buffet style of dinner at the Windjammer Café, where the food is still quite good and the service is exceptional.

Go to as many meet & greets as you can to say hello to some new friends. Unless you have a full dance card, it is wonderful to meet people who you may end up spending the rest of the evening with.

On a personal note – we had the time of our lives on this cruise, and this was entirely due to the interaction and fun times with our many new friends we have made. You will all know exactly who you are. We are slowly making friends in every state of the USA with each trip there (well, we do come to visit 2-3 times each year), so now we have more friends to visit and somewhere to stay whenever we are passing through!

We have just booked the Freedom of the Seas again in November 2013, and we will definitely be on the Celebrity Century out of LA in May 2014. So if you are on either of those ships, please look out for our Australian flag in our window, and come and say “G’day!”

Don’t forget – prices rise as time goes by, so check the cabin availability and book here NOW!

If you were on the ship, please tell us what you thought of the cruise in the comments section below!

We are excited… very excited! The Swinger’s Cruise is now rapidly approaching! We are a tick over 11 weeks away from what will be a memorable swinging vacation (or ‘holiday’ as us Aussies say!). We will also be having a few days to rest at Desire Los Cabos prior to the cruise – well, we have to in order to make the long journey from Australia worth our time!

We have been training quite regularly in the gym so we can look our best when November 11th comes about. As the cruise is 11 weeks away, now is the best time for you to get into the gym or to start an exercise program to make some significant physical change by the time the cruise starts.

Here is the best fitness program you will find to whip you into shape well before we set sail. Have a look at the video in the link below.

Get in Shape NOW for the Cruise!

So there is still plenty of time for you to get yourself in tip top shape for the adventure of a lifetime! We are looking forward to meeting all you if you are going on the Swingers Cruise!

Since our trip report last week we have had plenty of feedback and questions from readers, so we thank you for your input. Here is something that a friend we made on the trip, kindly allowed us to post here for any people wondering what to expect for the first time from a first timer’s perspective.

It is a fantastic read and you will really understand the thoughts and uncertainties you will have as a first timer.

However if you are not a member of the Desire Forum (why not?? Find out more HERE), you can read the report below. You will enjoy this one…

“Where to begin….

A story of saga, drama, love and laughter. It’s a long read but it might be helpful for those of you going for a first time.

My wife and I were looking for a summer vacation. I took the lead. Options were a cruise, beach in Miami, something in the Caribbean, Aruba, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo. I did some searching for Adult only, all inclusive. Then towards the end I added “topless” to the wonderful Google machine. A couple of places spit out… but one in particular stands out; Temptations in Cabo. Cool!

She’s on board for that (even though she’s never been topless in public before). But right before I book it, I notice that during our stay, the resort will be changing to Desire. Ok…. So what…. A little research on Desire… and Blam-o! It’s a clothing optional resort and optionally more if you want. I gulp… and present my wonderful findings to my wife. Lets just say she initially looses it. Tears and all…. Ok… so I guess we look for a plan B.

A couple of days go by and she decides… Fuck it. Lets go….

I think I shed little baby crocodile tears when she said that! (I definitely added it to my “proud of my awesome wife” memory bank.) As a side note…. I’ve never known a girl with a more adventurous side than her. Bonus! Wink BTW, the day after we book, she tells me …. Maybe we should book an extra day! Double Bonus!!

Ok, so now we’re over the decision and pay phase… what next. Thank god for the Desire forum and its diligent moderators. (yes you E&J!) We had so many questions and the members and moderators were quick to answer.

1) Will we fit in?
Wow. Did we over think that one. I think we imagined that we were going to be thrown into a shark tank wearing meat shorts. It couldn’t have been further from the truth. If you’re there to Tan, Drink (or Not), Sunbathe, Laugh, Hang out in the pool or Jacuzzi, eat, sleep, and get into the Theme nights….. You can’t help but to have a great time.

2) Everyone’s in the Lifestyle. Will we stick out?
Fair question since we just didn’t know. The reality is…. You are who you are and who you are isn’t defined by a label. Our experience is that I don’t think I’ve met a cooler bunch of people who were genuinely just fun to be around. And their labels… who knows. We talked to TONS of people and we didn’t lead of with “label yourself.” It just didn’t matter. You DO meet the coolest people ever and it leads to great conversations and great times.

3) Clothing optional or not. What is it really?
The reality of it is….. No body really cares if you go fully clothed, topless, bottomless or some crazy combination of it all. There’s no pressure to conform although I personally felt a relief when I started shedding clothes. It really is a freedom that we don’t often experience in the land of rules. Naked or partially clothed becomes the norm and you really become oblivious to clothing status. Until you try to get lunch that is. It would be cool if you could order food to your chair or pool bed…..

4) How “sexy” do clothes really get for dinner and theme nights?
Wow! Well… for dinners most ladies wore sexy often reveling dresses…. and god bless them! For theme nights and the disco….. All bets are off! From some who wore their dinner dresses to theme nights…. To those who went all out …… or those who wore pretty much nothing but jewelry …. (ya gotta love Texas!)
It’s a ton of fun when everyone gets into the theme nights, but again…. This crowd doesn’t judge and what you do is up to you. It was just fun to shop with my wife for theme nights. I actually heard her say “ I don’t think this dress is see through enough!” Again… I’m so proud of her! ..sniff…sniff…! Wink

5) The jacuzzi… Aww Snap! What a blast. Great after a day in the pool… Better after theme nights and awesomely crazy late night. Don’t miss the jacuzzi… Big smile.. Very Happy

It was kind of up and down while we waited for the day to head to Cabo. There were great days when we shopped and talked about our trip and some bummer days when my wonderful wife started over thinking the unknown. The process of booking the trip though, I believe, really did open up a new line of communication at a different level than we’ve experienced before. And it’s all good!

We did get over some hurdles…. Like having to buy an extra airline ticket right before takeoff…… long story.

While waiting for our plane to board….. my wife was kind of freaking out. She was sitting in the airport picking out all the couples who where heading to Desire. She was profiling what a Desire couple would look like and worrying about what the other passengers would think of all of us. She was sure she knew who was going to desire. Yup…. She was wrong as we were the only ones on the flight, but this became our first lesson in perceptions.

Why the ups and downs? Not really sure. Maybe because society has shoehorned us into a mold that we’re supposed to fit in and if we deviate from that mold we feel …. uncomfortable. Most of us generally don’t like to put ourselves into a position that’s uncomfortable therefore we feel anxious. I learned on this vacation to expand my mold and stop worrying so much about superficial things.

I remarked a couple of times while there to our new friends that I was really intrigued with the psychology of the whole experience. It truly is a mind bender. Once you get over the fact that the woman you’re talking to is topless or naked, you begin to listen to what they have to say and begin to find out how they are as a person. WHAT? I know!! Imagine that. She’s naked and I’m actually listening to what she has to say! It defies all common thinking.

One thing that I think stood out was that it seemed to me that the couples who had spent time topless or naked seemed to get more comfortable with themselves, which caused them to want to be less clothed more often which seemed to give them great confidence in themselves. A crazy, awesome, vicious circle. And just when you think these women can’t get any sexier…. They put on revealing outfits for the night. Wow….. I just couldn’t wait to start the cycle over the next day. What a place……

The women were all absolutely beautiful. Each different in their own way but it’s the uniqueness of each that make them o so beautiful. Looking back on it…. I honestly don’t remember a single flaw on anyone. Believe it or not ladies…. if you have any flaws we can’t see them and we don’t care! It doesn’t matter here.

What would I change? Not much.
I wouldn’t upgrade from a Garden View room unless it was to a Jacuzzi room. We really didn’t spend that much time in the room and since we were on the 3rd floor, we got a workout each day. It was a quiet room.
We stayed 8 nights but in fairness, I think 6 or 7 would have been better. We found that we had to rally at the end because we were having too much fun to miss anything. Rallying for 9 days is tough. Rally Monkey!

Burned into my memory…. I’m getting a drink at the swim up bar…. The Cabo Desire song starts playing…. There’s E and my wife standing in the shallow end…. Singing along…. Doing the “Hey Hey baby….Would you be my girl” dance…. The two beautiful blondes are mesmerizing, dancing, smiling and laughing….. What a thing to remember!

Synopsis: We had a lot of fun. We met some really cool people who we hope to see in the future. I spent most of the vacation naked and my wife spent most of it topless, often in a thong. The place was perfect, the food was fine, the drinks were a little light but mostly brand name, the staff was outstanding, the pool temps were as good as you could want but most importantly…. the atmosphere was ….. energized, happy, exciting and erotic. Could you want for more?

We laugh daily at some of the sayings that came out of this trip (thanks E&A). We look at each other and laugh at memories of the shenanigans. We grew as a couple in so many ways. And yes…. We’re looking at dates for our second trip!”

We at swinglifestyles are extremely appreciative of this new friend of ours allowing us to post this review. I know a lot of you will have received a lot of helpful advice and insights from it.

Here is an account of our recent trip to the new Desire Resort in Los Cabos. It is an information packed read, but if you would like to download a copy of this report for saving to your desktop, then please click here.

Trip to Resort

I will start this report from the airport and include some tips as I go. After you have collected your baggage from the carousel and as you are clearing the customs area, the last thing you have to do is press a button. If the light comes up green you are free to go; if it lights up red then you have to have your bags opened and thoroughly searched. So pray for a green light so you are not delayed and can begin your lifestyle vacation sooner!

Tip: Just after you leave this area you walk out into the foyer and out of the airport. In the foyer there are lots of companies who will try to sign you up for day tours and excursions etc… Just before you walk out the doors to this area (after pressing the button) there is a sign above that says “Residents through the Left door”, and “Tourists through the Right door”. In hindsight we should have walked through the “resident” door as they both open to the same area! It just gives these tour guides a chance to see who is a tourist or not and who to try to sell the tours to.

It was about a 20 min bus ride from airport through a cactus forest on the toll road to the Desire Resort on the shuttle bus. Our stop was the first with a busload of people, and you could hear all of the collective thoughts in their heads wishing they were getting off at the same stop as us! “Desire Resort & Spa – Deliciously Erotic” is plastered over the front wall as you drive up so they all clearly know what resort you are staying at.

At check in, you receive a glass of champagne each as you are welcomed and told about the resort, and then you take care of the administration and formalities. Then you will receive a wristband each for you to wear during your stay and you can wear this either on your wrist or ankle.

Tip: We wear the band on the opposite ankle to each other. We wear ours on the “outside leg” for the side of the bed we sleep on so we won’t scratch each other during the night sleeping or any other nocturnal activities.

The porter will take your bags up to your room and show you a few of the basics of the room (TV, A/C, etc…)

We needed to get a few supplies to have some room snacks. This is where Desire Los Cabos is different to Desire Riveria Maya, Cancun, as far as location goes. RM has you deep in the middle of nowhere surrounded by alligators in the pond out the front. If you needed to go to town or leave the resort it is a long(ish) cab ride. At Cabo there is a huge store called “Mega” directly across the street and up the steps that will take you about 4 minutes to walk to. It is a huge store with everything you will need from food, snacks, clothing, pharmaceutical items, sunscreen, and even a 42” plasma if you want to take one home.

Tip: If you want to use the Internet then next to Mega is Starbucks where you can get free wifi with a coffee purchase.

Rooms

Our room was a garden view room that was a long way away from the main pool area so we had to do a lot of walking. But we don’t mind this ‘incidental’ activity to help keep the weight off. Our room was big enough for a couch and king size bed and we had a small balcony. Our friends had a Jacuzzi suite and their room was much larger. I believe they were also treated to bed decorations each night. They also had an ipod dock where as our room did not. Their Jacuzzi comfortably fit us 4 in but there could be room for 2 more if required…

Channel 26 is the porn channel. It is something to watch whilst your other half is getting dressed for the evening. 1 movie usually plays on repeat for the whole day. We don’t go there to watch the porn but it can certainly help to get you in the mood for the nightly festivities.

Food

Suki, Il Piacere and Tentazione are the names of the 3 restaurants. The resort was below capacity when we were there so all of the restaurants were not open every night. This worked out ok because you get to try out all of the restaurants and it keeps most people at the resort together.

The Habachi grill at Suki was very nice & we had that several times. You can also get lobster at any of the restaurants (for an extra charge). The restaurants are kind of spread out as opposed to Desire RM. Here you have Suki at the front entrance, Il Piacere is located just inside the resort (you also have breakfast here), and Tentazione is located down by the pool (you have the lunch buffet here).

One night at Tentazione there was man playing a harp so that was a little different.

There is a dress code to get into Suki. I am unsure about the other restaurants. One evening a male in our group was wearing shorts and flip-flops. He was told to either put dress shoes on or dress trousers. So guys make sure you pack something to wear to dinner

At lunch there was a lot of fried foods, and the waiters will bring you a bowl of fried corn chips each time you sit down to eat, but there is still enough variety for you to choose a healthier option such as salad or vegetables as well as steak, fish and chicken grilled on request.

We liked having late night pizza at RM. Here there is a small pizza station behind the Melange Bar, but the pizza was often warm not hot. But at 3am, who’s complaining?

We never ordered room service but that is a 24-hour option if you wish.

Entertainment

Get involved in the activities provided by the entertainment staff. It is one of the best ways to get to know other people and interact. There are quite physical games such as water polo, water basketball, water volleyball, beach volleyball and iron man competition, but there are some less physically exerting activities such as shooting range, corn hole, horse shoe toss, darts and water basketball shooting.

With most of these games, if a female messes up (such as a missed serve in volleyball) she is given another chance to serve due to the “booby rule” which is basically to show your boobs and you get another turn. Fabulous rule!

As you play theses games you get to meet others who are on your team and then potentially have a drink with them afterwards in the pool. There is also some trivia on a variety of topics such as sex, movies, music and TV. Again these are good for interaction with others.

You can also win some great prizes by playing these games so get involved. It helps the entertainment staff and the more you play and participate, the more fun the whole environment becomes.

Entertainment Staff

David, Antonio, Angie & Cesar (Update – as at November 2012, David & Cesar are no longer there, but there is a new girl named April) were doing their best to get people involved in the daily activities. They did a fabulous job, but it is more helpful to them if guests participate, which most did. As long as there are some people participating then the rest of the crowd gets involved and has a laugh.

The 4 of them were often walking around chatting and trying to get to know the guests which we thought was quite nice.

Pool & Jacuzzi

The pool was quite large compared to RM. There is a swim up bar that gives you some shade so you can sit on the pool stool and have a drink there.

The surrounding areas of the pool and Jacuzzi are very slippery when wet, so dry your feet if you get out of the water to go to the bathroom or just to walk around the area. I saw a lot of people slip but recover, but I was talking to one person who landed on a shoulder quite badly after slipping down the steps. Try explaining to friends and family back home how you slipped and broke something at ‘a resort in Mexico’.

There are beds around the pool area. We booked one every day to give us comfort and shade. The $20 per day for the bed was well worth it. If you don’t want to pay the $20 there are beds beside the Jacuzzi stairs which are first come first serve but these are just a little further away from the pool.

Some people brought along some pool floats to lie on in the water. You could go to Mega and buy one quite cheaply if you wanted and then leave it behind if you don’t want to take it home with you.

At about 5pm each day, people start migrating up to the Jacuzzi. For some reason the water was extremely hot around this time, but when we went back for a second dip after the disco it was a lot cooler.

If you are new to the Desire format, be aware that in the Jacuzzi area you will definitely see lots of public sex acts. Some people may be put off by this but if this is the case and you feel that you may get offended there is no shame in leaving the area. There were often acts of oral sex (with and without whipped cream), intercourse, and group play in the Jacuzzi.

Tip: If you are wanting to play in the Jacuzzi, the water and chlorine can dry up the body’s natural lubrication. Someone gave us a try of this silicone-based lubricant which made a massive difference for play. If you are likely to want to play in the water then check it out below.

>>> Bodyglide Silicone Lubricant <<<

There are 6 beds around the Jacuzzi area where couples or groups head to so they can carry on their sexual acts. There is a small wall that will block some of the view of this happening whereas at Desire RM you can clearly see everything that is happening on those beds from the Jacuzzi.

Tip: In the Jacuzzi, the surface of the bench seats and the bar stools are quite rough – especially if you are sitting there for a while. So grab one of the large maroon coloured towels and bring that into the Jacuzzi to sit on. It makes a huge difference to the comfort levels!

General

We did observe that there is a lot more clothing worn here vs. RM but that may be due to the recent change from Temptations to Desire. Many people there had booked it as Temptations, only to arrive to find out that it was in fact a Desire format. Temptations was topless, whereas Desire is clothing optional for everyone.

The beach is a clothed beach. Even when playing volleyball on the sand within the resort. However, the above mentioned ‘booby rule’ is still allowed. Kind of. The beach is nice & long but you may die if you swim in it! When we were there we saw a warning board that had a coloured flag displayed depending on the water conditions. The black flag was out each day that meant the water conditions were ‘fatal’. Needless to say we avoided the water! But we had a nice long walk along the beach on a few of the days.

There is a different theme every night where most people dress up in lingerie, white costumes, Mexico colours, masquerade etc… If you want to know what the theme is for the night, then either ask at reception or there is a mannequin in the front gift shop window that will be dressed each day in the evening’s theme to give you some inspiration.

It is kind of funny how we see each other naked all day long, yet when it comes time to dress up in sexy wear for the evening, everyone looks more attractive!

The gym is smallish but it is big enough to do something. There are plenty of free weights for anyone to use, as well as a large cable cross over, plus a few cardio bikes. But after all, on a holiday you are really training just to keep your body moving and to burn off a few extra calories that may otherwise add up due to the fact that you are mainly lying around (well during the day at least!). You don’t train like you normally do at home. But a huge plus is the fact that the view from the gym is awesome! There are large windows facing out to the ocean.

It is a reasonably long walk around the resort. For example, some of the nightly entertainment is at the Melange Bar which is central to the resort. After the activities there the party moves to the disco which is about 100 metres back to the front of the resort. Then after the disco quietens down there is a very long walk to the other end of the resort to get into the Jacuzzi. This really can’t change so get used to walking a lot! With Desire RM, everything is in the one place; you have some nightly activities just outside the main foyer, then you go directly upstairs to the disco, then you walk 30 metres and up some stairs to a Jacuzzi.

Think of some of your favourite songs or songs that are reasonably popular, and go and request them with the DJ who is at the towel hut beside the pool. There was something for everyone. Each time we requested a song he was able to find it and play it for us. There was a band playing on the main stage on the weekends which was great.

The Internet is $15 per day or $75 per week. Or as we previously mentioned there is free wifi at Starbucks which is a 4-minute walk directly across the road. Depends on how much internet you need. We just checked emails every 2-3 days so we did not need to buy any plan at the resort.

Apparently the waiters like the US $2 note, so if you are going to tip them, take a handful of these notes. I know they are harder to come by these days, but it is a nice touch for them.

Tip: If you live in an area that does not have much sun at home, get to the solarium or tanning beds before your holiday for several sessions. This will help you to develop a base tan so you don’t get as burnt due to the harsh burning sun.

The front gift shop has some souvenirs such as shirts, hats, and other clothing items. You can also purchase some small snacks or sunscreen, but that will be cheaper at Mega across the road. There are also ‘sexual enhancement’ products such as penis enlarging pills and delay sprays to delay ejaculation. These products make me laugh!

Tip: Instead of buying a gimmick or some anaesthetic spray to lose feeling, if you want to delay ejaculation you are far better off looking at an extremely effective, proven program by clicking the link below…

>>> Last Longer In Bed <<<

When you leave the resort and get to the airport, make sure that your bag weighs less than 50 lbs. If you buy duty free items whilst you are there (eg. alcohol), remember that the extra weight may tip your bags over the allowed weight.

Tip: There is a charge if your bag is overweight depending on the airline. Take along a small bag in case your luggage is too heavy. Then just place some heavier items in this bag to reduce your checked luggage weight. Or take a small hand scale with you so you can check the weight when you have packed.

The People

Even though the resort was around 40% capacity, we still met some wonderful people. The people you meet are truly what will make your trip an awesome experience. That is why we say to get involved in some of the activities and step outside your comfort zone. We met some fabulous people and we are already making plans to see them again whether at Desire or not.

On a trip like this you will realise that lifestyle vacations are more fun than vanilla vacations because you get to meet and mingle with others so much easier. For some strange reason we find it is far easier to talk to a naked person than a clothed person. On our vanilla vacations we usually keep to ourselves but on a lifestyle vacation we try to meet as many others as possible. Not just for play, but to meet some genuine friends.

We can’t wait for the next trip to Desire Resort Los Cabos.
